Sacred Heart Catholic School

Drama Program

“Sacred Heart School has an amazing community. Students are able to form close friendships, parents feel wanted and involved in their child’s education, and the teachers are dedicated and want their students to succeed. The class sizes are small which means each student gains more individualized support. There are also many other opportunities for student success, both spiritually and academically. There is access to a full range of subjects as well as specialty classes of art, PE, computers, and religion. This school is centered around their students and what they will need to be successful throughout their lives.”

About Drama Program

The third-grade class explores an introduction to drama through a puppet show presented to students from Preschool through 2nd grade. They learn the basics of stage direction, character study, backstage etiquette, and the importance of working together as a cast. Each student makes their own puppet in art class to keep after the performance.

Middle school students have access to a variety of elective classes, including a six-week drama course. Here, they develop leadership and collaborative skills through improv games, character study, scene work, and script writing.

Sacred Heart Catholic School has a long-standing tradition of performing a musical each spring. Rehearsals are held during school hours, with a weekend of performances on the first weekend of May. The 2025 musical selection is Annie. Previous productions have included Newsies, Peter Pan, and Shrek.
