Sacred Heart Catholic School

Spanish

“Sacred Heart has continued to be a community of support, love and safety in education through this pandemic. Their dedication to students through distance learning, and through the reopening of schools should be a role model for the rest of the schools in the valley. My son was able to finish kindergarten and half of 1st grade with little disruption to his educational progress through the pandemic and has been able to transition back to school and continue to flourish because of the efforts of the teachers and staff. I wouldn’t want him anywhere else!”

About Spanish

Our Spanish program is offered for Kindergarten through 8th Grade by a licensed Spanish teacher. Students in K-4 receive 30-minute classes twice a week while our 5th-8th graders are given 55-minute classes twice a week.

Our k-4th curriculum includes learning basic Spanish vocabulary tailored to each grade level. Greetings, colors, numbers, prayers, family, weather are all taught throughout the school year.

Our 5th-8th grade curriculum includes vocabulary but also start learning about grammar and verb conjugation. Students will practice speaking in short conversations as well and reading and writing .

We are excited to introduce students to Spanish and watch them grow in their confidence using the language.
